About Me

My name is Jared and I am an American Merchant Mariner. I graduated from the California Maritime Academy in 2008 and have been sailing ever since. Even before I began sailing, I had an interest in photography, which turned into a major hobby of mine after I graduated. The deck of a tug boat provides me with a unique perspective, and when I’m working, my camera is never far from reach. I love capturing everything that I see; unique vessels, harbor action, severe weather and the every day work that takes place on my boat. When I’m home, I focus mainly on landscape work here in Idaho. This year, I decided to expand my passion into a profession. I love what I do; shooting and editing passes the long days away from home and gets me outdoors with my family when I’m shoreside.

About my work.

From LA/Long Beach to Alaska. I sail primarily out on the West Coast of the USA on a tug boat. My work gets me up close and personal with tons of harbor action. If I cant reach it with a telephoto, I will fly to it with my drone. One of my photos was even featured on the cover of Workboat Magazine.
